Dear Alumni,
To mark the 25th Anniversary of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2016, the University will present a series of celebratory events starting this Fall. During these past 25 years, HKUST has truly become an international university, with our alumni spanning the globe for studies and work. We want to share this significant birthday with these alumni in far away places. Therefore, apart from a Gala Banquet in Hong Kong on 19 June 2016, there will be four gatherings worldwide, in London, San Francisco, Beijing and Singapore.
You are cordially invited to the inaugural overseas celebration to be held in London on 14 November 2015 (Saturday). Being the only alumni event in Europe, this London program promises to be a very meaningful get-together with our alumni, students and friends in the region.
This London alumni event comprises of an inspiring seminar for a general audience hosted by our School of Science, followed by a celebration dinner. We are honored to have invited Sir John Pendry, HKUST IAS Visiting Professor and Chair Professor of Physics at Imperial College, to be our guest speaker at the seminar. Whatever school you graduated from at HKUST, you are invited to come to both the afternoon and evening programs. Details of the 25th Anniversary London event are as follows:
